Alyson Storck - IBC Warrior

I was diagnosed on April 16, 2005, at the age of 40.

Alyson

I was 40 years old when diagnosed. The redness and swelling occurred on the weekend, and I contacted my doctor on Monday. Within 12 days, I was diagnosed, sent through 16 doctor appointments, had a chemo port surgically implanted in my chest, and began chemo.

I had chemo from April until August and on September 1st had a left MRM. I began Herceptin in October and had 38 radiation treatments. I am ER- and HER2 + and fighting this disease from the inner depths of my soul.

I have two sons, ages 11 and 14 and everything to live for. My hair is back - I no longer need the wigs and scarves (YEA!!!!) and I am on my way back.

I am trying to incorporate a new diet and exercise plan into our lives. I pray often and remain very positive.

I AM BEATING THIS!

Alyson,

I can't tell you how much it meant to me that you were there for me thru my cancer ordeal. Especialy while you were going to radiation. You are a strong, determined, and special woman. If anyone can beat this, it is you.

You are truly a inspiration to me, after watching you go thru everything you have this year and staying strong and still being a great Mom, Wife and Friend thru it all. Gives me strength and determination. I'm so proud of you!

I will continue to pray for you and that together we will be cancer survivors.

Love ya!
Susan

My Heart Will Go On

Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you,
That is how I know you go on

Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you go on

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

Love can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime
And never let go till we're one

Love was when I loved you
One true time I hold to
In my life we'll always go on

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

You're here, there's nothing I fear,
And I know that my heart will go on
We'll stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

Be Not Afraid

You shall cross the barren desert,
but you shall not die of thirst.
You shall wander far in safety,
though you do not know the way.

You shall speak your words in foreign lands,
and all will understand,
You shall see the face of God and live.

Be not afraid,
I go before you always,
Come follow Me,
and I shall give you rest.

If you pass through raging waters
in the sea, you shall not drown.
If you walk amidst the burning flames,
you shall not be harmed.

If you stand before the pow'r of hell
and death is at your side,
know that I am with you, through it all

Be not afraid,
I go before you always,
Come follow Me,
and I shall give you rest.

Blessed are your poor,
for the Kingdom shall be theirs.
Blest are you that weep and mourn,
for one day you shall laugh.

And if wicked men insult and hate you,
all because of Me,
blessed, blessed are you!

Be not afraid,
I go before you always,
Come follow Me,
and I shall give you rest.
