Barbara Ann Hendon - IBC Warrior

twinkling star image

Barbara was diagnosed on June 24, 2005 at the age of 64.

Barbara

My momma was diagnosed with ibc in June of 2005. I was devastated. I still feel devastated. I have tried so hard to accept this diagnosis, but I don't think I ever will.

A Pet scan showed bone mets. After nine months of intensive chemotherapy the tumor in her right breast was still growing. So, in April the surgeon removed it.

There was extensive lymph node involvement. The tumor has spread into the chest wall.

Now most recently she can't walk. An MRI shows brain mets. Next is gamma knife.

I don't know how much more she can take. She is geting 36mg of doxil every two weeks. She stays weak and vomits daily.

I drive from Lakeland, Florida to Alabama on Monday and go back to Florida on Friday so I can work weekends.

This is really hard for her. She is so strong, and I know she is fighting with all the strength that is within her.

I love her so much. I will write more later.

Bring on the Rain

Another day has almost come and gone
Can’t imagine what else could wrong
Sometimes I’d like to hide away somewhere and lock the door
A single battle lost but not the war (‘cause)

Tomorrow’s another day
And I’m thirsty anyway
So bring on the rain

It’s almost like the hard times circle ‘round
A couple drops, and they all start coming down
Yeah, I might feel defeated,
I might hang my head
I might be barely breathing - but I’m not dead

Tomorrow’s another day
And I’m thirsty anyway
So bring on the rain

I’m not gonna let it get me down
I’m not gonna cry
And I’m not gonna lose any sleep tonight

His Eye Is On The Sparrow

Why should I be discouraged
And why should the shadows fall?
Why should my heart be lonely,
And long for heaven and home?

When Jesus is my portion,
My constant Friend is He,
His eye is on the sparrow
and I know He watches me.
His eye is on the sparrow
and I know He watches me.

I sing because I'm happy;
I sing because I'm free;
His eye is on the sparrow
and I know He watches me.

Let not your heart be troubled;
These tender words I hear;
And resting on his goodness,
I lose my doubts and fears;

For by the path He leadeth;
But one step I may see;
His eye is on the sparrow
and I know He watches me.
His eye is on the sparrow
and I know He watches me.

I sing because I'm happy;
I sing because I'm free;
His eye is on the sparrow
and I know He watches me.

Whenever I am tempted;
Whenever clouds arise;
When songs give place to sighing;
When hope within me dies;

I draw the closer to Him;
From care He sets me free;
His eye is on the sparrow
and I know He watches me.
His eye is on the sparrow
and I know He watches me.

I sing because I'm happy;
I sing because I'm free;
His eye is on the sparrow
and I know He watches me.
