I was diagnosed with IBC on January 11, 2004. During my chemo my husband died suddenly from a heart attack on Easter Sunday, 2004 before my mastectomy.

I now live alone with my dog, Bailey. He keeps me moving in the worst and best of times.

My family has been very supportive, and my 26 year old daughter is in constant contact, although she lives out of town.

My doctor keeps me constantly aware of the fact that I will die from this disease. It has spread to my lungs. Sometimes the treatments shrink the tumors and then they come back.

I have never been in remission. I am now being treated with Doxil, and I am not happy with that. Next stop is pills.
