I was diagnosed on July 28, 2005 at the age of 43.

Jo

I had breast pain and knew something was not right. I went to the doctor on July 11, 2005. They thought I had a breast infection and gave me antibiotics.

July 13th I had a mammogram and an ultrasound...it did not improve with antibiotics...on July 27th did a biopsy..got results on the 28th ..IBC...

Went to Zion, Illinois the first week in August to the Cancer treatment center there...Was evaluated and they did a MRI...Saw Dr Citren ...started chemo on August 5th...three chemo drugs together...adriamycin, cytoxan and taxotere...had four sets of chemo over next few months.

In November I met with the surgeon. On November 2nd I had the right breast removed and 24 lymph nodes under the arm removed..only found one small tiny dot of cancer under the arm in the lymph nodes...on November 23rd tubes were taken out.

I started radiation from December 7th until February 10th (28 treatments). Then I had five days of boosts.

My left breast was bothering me. It felt heavy and itched. Had a mammogram and all was ok. From January 31, 2006 until March 6, 2006 I had shingles.

I had a left breast biopsy on March 27th which came back ok, but the breast still didn't feel right. They seem to think it is aftereffects of radiation and all that I have been through.

I started chemo again on March 27th, 2006 as a preventative. ..three days....April 19th chemo three days.

Lymphedema developed on April 2, 2006....my right arm was swollen and bothering me on the right side. I had to have therapy for a week and was fitted for a sleeve and glove which I will wear the rest of my life.

On May 16th, 2006 I had a muga scan, cat scan, blood work and exam and all doing ok. On May 20, 2006 I started xeloda 8 pills a day for 14 days and off 14 days. He wants me on this for four to six months.

Every week I have blood work done on Tuesdays...from August 2005--July 2006

Found a blood clot at port site...April 20th...removed port...started me on blood thinner shots daily in the stomach...April 22nd...still on shots (arixtra) as of July 12, 2006.

I take supplements daily, green tea, b6, daily vitamin, melatonin, vitamen e, l-glutamine powder. I think the supplements have helped me alot. I also take prevacid, low dosage blood pressure pill and a thyroid pill.

My friends and family have been a wonderful support. My friend Denise kept me encouraged. I have a wonderful husband and two sons..one is four years old and the other is 25 years old.

I also have a granddaughter who just turned one. My son's girlfriend is a blessing to me also. My parents have been a great support to me and all my friends and inlaws. I appreciate all their support and love.

Every Breath You Take

Every breath you take
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take

I'll be watching you

Every single day
Every word you say
Every game you play
Every night you stay

I'll be watching you

Oh can't you see
You belong to me?
How my poor heart aches
with every step you take

Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake

I'll be watching you

Since you've gone
I've been lost without a trace
I dream at night
I can only see your face

I look around
but it's you I can't replace
I keep crying baby please

Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake

I'll be watching you

Amazing Grace

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now can see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

And when we've been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We'll have no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we first begun.
