Lora Bronken - IBC Warrior

I was diagnosed on June 29, 2004, at the age of 45.

Lora

Today is July 18, 2004, it has been one swift ride. I started my chemo regimen on July 16, 2004. I've never cared for drugs so I've a bit of a mental battle going on here.

Fortunately my cancer is still confined to my left breast. God bless my doctors who acted so quickly forcing me in on overloaded schedules to get me to this point. The beginning of the war on IBC.

A little over three months has now passed since I found out that I had IBC. My sister has yet to find someone who knows what IBC is when first she asks them if they've heard of it.

At first I felt as though I'd been ripped out of my reality, indeed I had. I could no longer do the job I had, but I'm blessed with an employer who found another spot for me in the organization where I can come and go as needed.

This is definitely the longest row I've had to hoe. My friends are seeing me through.

Churchhill once said, "When you are going through hell, keep going!"

His Eye Is On The Sparrow

Why should I be discouraged
And why should the shadows fall?
Why should my heart be lonely,
And long for heaven and home?

When Jesus is my portion,
My constant Friend is He,
His eye is on the sparrow
and I know He watches me.
His eye is on the sparrow
and I know He watches me.

I sing because I'm happy;
I sing because I'm free;
His eye is on the sparrow
and I know He watches me.

Let not your heart be troubled;
These tender words I hear;
And resting on his goodness,
I lose my doubts and fears;

For by the path He leadeth;
But one step I may see;
His eye is on the sparrow
and I know He watches me.
His eye is on the sparrow
and I know He watches me.

I sing because I'm happy;
I sing because I'm free;
His eye is on the sparrow
and I know He watches me.

Whenever I am tempted;
Whenever clouds arise;
When songs give place to sighing;
When hope within me dies;

I draw the closer to Him;
From care He sets me free;
His eye is on the sparrow
and I know He watches me.
His eye is on the sparrow
and I know He watches me.

I sing because I'm happy;
I sing because I'm free;
His eye is on the sparrow
and I know He watches me.
