Hi,
I immediately knew I had an IBC when I found a big tumor on my breast and when my breast began to be red.
I received 3 doses of fec 100 and 4 doses of taxotere, but in August, 2006 my breast became red again, and the tumor's size increased so much.
My specialist told me that there was nothing more to do and that I just had to wait for death!
I saw another specialist at the Curie's Institute in Paris. He decided to make a combination of radiotherapy and chemo (5fu + navelbine) to reduce the inflammation and the tumor.
I finally had my mammectomy on January the 3rd, 2007.
Now the point is that there are some redness again on the wound...just will know tomorrow if it's another cancer's attack or not! Next week I will see my specialist to know if I will receive another chemo again or homonotherapy!
I have a 9 years' old daughter, and I will fight every day to see her grow up! I'm a warrior, and I won't let the IBC win!
(sorry for my bad english, but I'm french!!!)
