M Evans - IBC Warrior

I was diagnosed on March 28, 2005, at the age of 23.

M Evans

My health issues began roughly a year and a half before I was diagnosed. During the summer of 2003 I had a fibroadenoma removed.

Six months later after a very difficult healing process, I developed what seemed to be an infection. I began another round of weekly trips to the hospital and a barrage of invasive procedures.

When I was diagnosed I remember thinking this has to be a mistake. How could an otherwise healthy 23 year old with no family history of cancer be hit with such a rare didease as IBC?

It's been about nine months since that life changing day, and I'm still undergoing alternative treatments, but seeing the joy in my daughter's eyes helps me to see the rainbow waiting ahead - yes and that pot of gold.

It is Well with My Soul

When peace like a river attendeth my way
When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

It is well, it is well with my soul.
It is well, it is well with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blessed assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.

It is well, it is well with my soul.
It is well, it is well with my soul.

My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

It is well, it is well with my soul.
It is well, it is well with my soul.

And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.

It is well, it is well with my soul.
It is well, it is well with my soul.
